Jeju’s new trademark to be unveiled

Jeju is working to create its own trademark. That’s right. Jeju will start using its new representative symbols starting on April 20th. The new sign will symbolize the significance of being a special self-governing province. And symbol will also highlight Jeju’s beauty as a UN-designated world natural heritage site. Other cities in the nation are using their own mascots and symbols. For the city of Seoul, it’s Hi Seoul. For the city of Suwon, it’s Happy Suwon. But the Jeju’s trademark will be Only Jeju Island. The sign will contain a picture of the city’s mascot “돌이,” and it will be used as part of Jeju’s marketing strategy. With the creation of a new trademark that symbolizes Jeju Island, the Jeju government will also redesign its province flag. A special ceremonial event will be held on April 22th, which will also be an opportunity to reveal the new trademark as well as the new design of Jeju’s flag. And various festive activities are scheduled to celebrate the new beginning of Jeju starting at 6PM on the same day.
