
Invertebrate animals (shell fishes)
The total amount of invertebrate animal species (except animal plankton) of the coastal area in Jeju numbers 627, according to a 1993 report. It is abundant compared to other areas in the country. Included are abalone, king abalone, Sulculus aquatilis, Macroschisma sinensis, Pagurus samuelis, etc.
Fish
It is reported that there are approximately 90 kinds of fish in Korea. Among these, 100 kinds of freshwater fish, 100 kinds of catadromous fish, and 700 kinds of marine fish are found. In coastal areas of Jeju, warm current flows and coral inhabits the southern boundaries. More fish inhabit here than any other zones and 300 kinds of fish are reported
