Jeju Island announced that the expansion of medicaid support for pregnant women and the disabled has been in operation from earlier this month. This is affected by revision of 'Medical Care Assistance Act Regulations' and 'the Notice on motorized prosthetic items' price for the disabled.' Jeju will give 700,000 (seventy thousand)won in support, which is a 200,000(twenty thousand) won increase, for pregnant women with more than one fetus. The expansion of Medicaid support to expectant mother with multiple birth is due to the fact that these birth can cost much more than average first deliveries and is quite likely a Caesarean operation will be required.
